100 Holes of Hope is an annual charity golf marathon where participants – or as we like to call them, Golf Warriors – play 100 holes of golf in one day… or at least give it their best shot. Golf Warriors are required to raise money through pledges in order to participate. There will be 36 Golf Warriors playing at Loch March Golf & Country Club. We play ‘Hurry-up Golf’, which includes 3-foot gimme putts. There are two golfers per hole and each have their own power cart.
The three charities we support are CF Canada, the Ottawa Hospital Foundation in support of cystic fibrosis patient care and treatment programs and the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health towards the advancement of treating mental illness.
When & Where
The event will take place Monday August 8, 2022 at one of Ottawa’s premier golf courses, Loch March Golf & Country Club.
Becoming a Golf Warrior (2-person team)
As a Golf Warrior, you are not required to pay any fees at the event. Each Golf Warrior is required to raise a minimum $1,500 or a minimum of $3,000 combined team total. To register, select the “Become a Golf Warrior” button, make the commitment to raise funds and take on the challenge, sign up and click SUBMIT. It’s that easy! By committing to become a Golf Warrior, you are obligated to raise the minimum amount of pledges required and are responsible for any shortages of funds raised. See our Information Guide for more details.
We begin our day very early with sign-in starting at 5:45 a.m. and breakfast buffet at 6:00 a.m. Golf begins with a shotgun start at 7:15 a.m. and the marathon is over at 6:45 p.m. A BBQ lunch will be available on the patio near holes #1 and #10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be non-alcoholic beverages and snacks on the course throughout the day (alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase). The evening festivities begin with professional massages for the golfers, refreshments and live entertainment on the patio. Dinner starts at 8:00 with acknowledgments, awards and prize presentations, event video, guest speaker and concludes with the cheque presentation to CF Canada, the Ottawa Hospital, and the Royal Ottawa.
In order to play 100 holes in 11.5 hours, everyone must follow the Pace-of-Play times. There will be a time chart posted in each power cart that lets you know which hole you should be playing at any given time. These times are guidelines and will help you manage your time in order to finish by 6:45 pm. If a team can’t keep Pace-of-Play, they must allow the players behind them to play through. It’s not mandatory that everyone play 100 holes, but most see this as a challenge and we need to ensure they have the opportunity to finish in the allowed time. There will be marshals on the course to ensure everyone is respecting the Pace-of-Play rules.
